The news, all the news, as it happens, as soon as we get round to it....Skware Weals new site 06 October 2008 Currently under development is the new companion to this site. We're excited about squarewheels.biz which will be moving to shiny new internet premises at Spanglefish Towers. You can get an early look around here and we'll be switching just as soon as we've ironed out all the speling misteaks. John O'Groats on a penny farthing - that's gotta hurt! 22 September 2008 A mad fool has set off on a 1,000-mile journey from Land's End to John O'Groats on a penny farthing bicycle. Stuart Kettell, from Coventry, said he expected the gruelling pedal, which he is doing without the help of a support group, to take him three weeks. He will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and people will be able to track his progress via his website. Magnus moves on 04 September 2008 Look out for Magnus Davidson of Cromarty who has been sponsored by Square Wheels since he was in short trousers. He has been selected for the Braveheart squad in the Scottish development team and is now going to ride for Velo Ecosse who we are sure will support Magnus in the manner to which he's become accustomed, in his ascent to the top. We wish him every success and hope he remembers his old pals when he's on the podium at the next Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Little Feat duo dates confirmed 02 September 2008 Paul Barrere and Fred Tacket will be back to sort out some unfinished business in Scotland in December. While they're here they thought they'd play the following dates: 6 Tunnels - Aberdeen (Ticket Web and One Up Records)

Win Belladrum Festival tickets 13 August 2008 Fab weather and a great atmosphere made the 5th Belladrum festival the place to be over the weekend of 9th August. Square Wheels were sponsoring the Potting Shed stage which attracted an enthusiastic crowd for the whole festival. More on Belladrum at their own website, including a chance to win tickets for Belladrum 2009. Tory leader's stolen bicycle surfaces on eBay 26 July 2008 David Cameron's bike is back in the news again. The Tory leader was miffed to have his bicycle stolen after he left it locked to a bollard outside his local Tesco in west London. Some wag immediately listed a similar bike on eBay saying 'it leans oddly to the right' and added 'it's nearly new because it has only been used for a couple of photo-opportunities'. Unfortunately it was pulled by eBay before the price rose above £10.50. |
